How do I access the New York Times (NYT) online?
Answer
Go to the Database A-Z list and find the link to the “New York Times” listed under "N." If you have already set up your annual school pass for The New York Times, you may click directly on the link (see red text, “New York Times,” pictured below).
To access your school pass to The New York Times for the first time OR for the first time this academic year (passes last a year before they need to be renewed), you will need to follow the directions below the link.
When you go to http://nytimes.com/passes, you will see the screen below. Click on the “Create Account” button.
This will take you to the “Log in or create an account” screen pictured on the right hand side of this page. First, make sure you are signed in to your SPS Google account, then click on “Continue with Google.”
PLEASE NOTE, if you used your sps.edu email to set up a free NYT account during the COVID-19 years, you will need to sign in and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT before you are able to use the NYT school passes with your sps.edu email.
